Sustainability policy of Clock Group
Clock Group is a group of companies, dedicated to developing, promoting and supporting constantly evolving next-generation hotel property management systems, used globally.
Clock recognises that businesses can have a negative impact on the environment. We are committed, and enjoy finding ways in which we can reduce the impact of our work on the environment both at the office and when work takes us away from the office.
It is our policy to:
- To minimise the usage of electricity, we use world-leading hosting services for our service (Amazon WS) which aim the most environmentally friendly way possible and achieve 100% renewable energy usage for the infrastructure they lease to us (See Amazon sustainability policy).
- Avoid the use of paper wherever possible. For example, we send invoices, quotes and agreements electronically;
- We constantly design features in our solutions that will allow our customers to go paperless, e.g. Online check-in, online checkout, online invoice delivery, online guest registration cards, onscreen reports and dashboards, so they can reduce the usage of paper to a minimum. Our goal is to allow completely paperless operations with our solutions.
- Recycling equipment that is no longer of use to the company. For example, giving away items such as computers and printers that we no longer use.
- Keep energy usage low. For example, making use of low energy light bulbs throughout and ensuring that computers are shut down at the end of the workday.
- Reduce the overall usage of paper (from the printer) where possible, making use of the blank side for notes, etc.
- Purchase products made with recycled paper. For example, paper towels, printer paper
- Select suppliers committed to sustainability and environmental protection
- Avoid unnecessary travel by making use of instant messaging, video and audio conferencing, telephone, and email. Whereas travel is unavoidable, we try to use as much public transportation as possible to reduce the carbon footprint
- Stimulate the environmentally friendly commuting of our employees to our offices by ensuring bicycle parkings, policies for working from home and deploying BYOD to avoid the use of unnecessary equipment.
