Oliver Hartmann:Coming from the corporate hospitality industry, I am very aware of how these corporate booking tools need to work. We are talking about a centralised process, not only giving your hotel, but also your corporate partner, indirect savings. Thus, making it easier for you as a hotel if you want to collect the data and do the respective analysis. To summarize it all; at the end of the day we are talking about knowing your partners and reacting to their needs.
Online Check-in and Self Service Portal improvements
Oliver Hartmann:As many of you know we do have our enhanced guest mailer functionality which can be used for sending out the customized mailings. What we have done here is basically just implemented a very convenient, very accessible feature, making this whole process a bit more flexible. This way you can focus to a much higher extent on the pre-arrival engagement. The general idea is of course all about improving the customer relationship. Using this feature will clearly contribute towards showcasing and introducing your important own hospitality brand to your guests.
Oliver Hartmann:The next new functionality is something I personally love. It is about defining the benchmark, your cut-off rate and regulating your prices giving you the ultimate control of your pricing. For example, if you need to earn a min. revenue per room and night, this is exactly what you can now define in the system, so that it automatically guarantees that the room rate is either stopped for sale or that the minimum price is maintained. I am extremely excited about this hurdle rate feature and the optimized approach to work with an enhanced rates management tool without necessarily needing the support of a revenue management provider. It is an extremely good tool and it just makes my revenue heart incredibly happy! I also do hope that you will enjoy this new key feature.
Olier Hartmann:Room Features - this was a long waited-for feature and we are all extremely delighted to have finally released it. Our approach is to provide an additional feature which supports and enhances the whole guest experience personalization aspect, granting a further possibility to react to your guests needs. When it comes to the room attributes and their allocation, it is primarily about defining what features the guests are willing to pay for and what features should be promoted as such. At the end of the day, if you have too many features, amenities and attributes listed for one of your rooms, it could very well lead to a choice paralysis, which will conclude to the guests possibly stopping the whole booking process due to insecurity. Similar as in my personal case; if I have too much to choose from, I just cannot decide, and it does get frustrating at some point!
Oliver Hartmann:Another really great feature which we have just implemented for your whole revenue forecasting, in terms of occupancy and the respective revenue on the books. It is a tool or a new report which will basically empower you to proceed with effective yielding across your various channels and segments. It is also about understanding your cash and credit flow from each of the different segments. If you, for example, notice that your corporate groups segment is actually booking more reservations than your transient segment and knowing how the corporate segment sometimes works - these payments are usually delayed or expected on a later date through the accounts receivable - this kind of reporting tool will give you a very good indication of where you might need to take some sort of action and execute effective marketing strategies. Such a tool can support the whole creation of customized promotions based on segments and provides a highly effective and detailed overview of the business on the books for your transient as well as group bookings.
Oliver Hartmann:These are, let us say “pretty” optimizations for your convenience, improving the general workflow for your staff members. We have implemented a new event search function offering more filter criteria. As you know our search bars work like Google’s search bar. You can just type in individual letters and the system will recognize everything that falls into that parameter. The event search overview has basically received a facelift, making it easier to access those specific events that you are looking for. Another improvement is that we have implemented the default company folios which can be defined in your company profiles, especially when you are working with accounts receivable meaning that companies are requesting for invoices on a monthly basis for their staff members that were accommodated in the hotel. This is a nice feature whereas a default company folio is always available when transferring the charges.
