About Clock

Built by people who’ve been there. Made for hotels who want things to just work.

A better way to run a hotel

We didn’t start Clock with a pitch deck or a grand vision.
We started with frustration — and curiosity.

Back in the 90s, hotel tech felt like a mess. Systems were clunky, disconnected, and impossible to love. Hotels were drowning in complexity. Staff had to fight their tools instead of relying on them.

We thought: There has to be a better way.

So in 1996, a few of us — then still university students — began building. Not a startup. Not a company. Just a better tool.

That early effort grew into a full-featured platform, used by hotels across Europe for more than a decade. It wasn’t flashy, but it got the job done — and hoteliers noticed.

Then the industry changed. Guests moved online. Expectations grew. Hotels needed to connect, scale, and adapt faster than ever. And we knew we had to rethink everything.

So in 2014, we started over.

We took everything we’d learned — the wins, the failures, the late-night bug fixes — and built something new from the ground up.
That’s how the new Clock was born: cloud-native, guest-centric, and built for how hospitality really works today.

We didn’t just move to the cloud. We reimagined what hotel tech could be if it stayed out of your way and helped you deliver better service, every day.

Today, Clock is used in over 65 countries by teams large and small. From boutique hotels in Berlin to beach resorts in Bali, we help people run smoother operations and create better guest experiences.

We’re still independent. Still product-driven. Still working closely with the people on the ground — not just building software for hotels, but with them.

And we’re just getting started.
